Patients are asked to use an Olive Oil Spray for 3-5 days prior to this procedure, which is available from Audiology Services.
This procedure is ideal for patients where syringing is unsuitable, or that had previous surgery or problems in the ear canal. With the Microsuction method of Wax Removal there is no water used.

Irrigation Ear Wax Removal is an ideal method of ear cleaning for people who are comfortable with it. The Irrigation solution is carefully warmed to body temperature for comfort. Ear Wax Removal by Irrigation was previously known as ear syringing.

The appliance contains a reservoir unit for water and a hand-held nozzle which is used to gently spray water into the ear canal at a controlled and steady rate. The water removes the ear wax build-up, flushing it out of the ear canal to be captured in a receptacle which is held under the ear.
